It is my belief that there is no absolute freedom, nor free will in the world we live in. Who we are is shaped by cultures, genetics, physics, etc, all the way from the formation of society and the mind to the universe itself. The past, present, and future are possibly mere parts of the tremendous cause-and-effect chain, which established our deterministic world. Or is it?If I could live without these premises, what would I be? Is there still the concept of "I" and the things that define it? This 8"x4"x4" sculpture discusses the paradox of freedom. As the self collides with the external world, it questions the form of freedom.
